90-Day Modified Treatment Program

90-Day Modified Treatment Option at Sheer Recovery

Everyone who comes to rehab recovers at their own pace. For some people, recovery can happen quickly, but for others, they need a little extra care to establish a sober lifestyle.

The average client spends 30-60 days in treatment at Sheer Recovery, but we also offer a 90-day modified addiction treatment program for individuals who can benefit from more time in counseling and supportive housing. Our exclusive 90-day rehab is uniquely designed to support the needs of patients who come from out of state, struggle with severe addictions, or do not have access to safe, sober housing outside of our Orange County California recovery facility.

How Long Does Rehab Usually Last?

Residential inpatient rehab typically lasts 30 days including detox, but there are other levels of care clients can participate in to receive ongoing support after inpatient treatment. For example, you can spend 30 days in residential care and then transition to PHP or IOP for another 30 days.

The amount of time you will spend in other levels of care depends on your situation and your unique treatment needs. Generally, the more severe your addiction is, the longer you can benefit from treatment.

What if I Need More than Just 30-60 Days in Rehab?

While most people spend 30-60 days in rehab, some people can benefit from extended care. If you are thinking that there is no way 30-60 days in rehab will be enough to keep you sober, rest assured that you are not alone. According to the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), most addicted individuals need at least three months (90 days) of treatment to significantly reduce or stop their drug use. NIDA also states that the best treatment outcomes occur with longer durations of treatment.

Addiction recovery is a long-term process, so there is no need to rush through treatment. Remaining in rehab for an adequate amount of time is critical for your recovery.

Sheer Recovery understands that no two individuals are the same and that better treatment outcomes are the result of individually-tailored care. That’s why we offer a specialized 90-day modified rehab program for people who require extended care.

90-Day Modified Treatment Program at Sheer Recovery

At Sheer Recovery, we do something unique for clients who can benefit from continued monitored care. Our 90-Day modified treatment program supports patients who aren’t yet ready to go back home or return to work by allowing them to stay in our sober living facility while attending partial hospitalization (PHP) and intensive outpatient programs (IOP) at our clinical office.

Partial Hospitalization

Once clients step down from residential treatment to our PHP, we continue keeping them engaged in treatment 7 days a week. This gives clients the opportunity to practice and reinforce the coping skills they have already learned, adopt new coping strategies, and establish a firm sober support group. During PHP, clients stay in our monitored sober living environment, but they have some level of freedom outside of their therapy sessions.

After completing PHP treatment, staff members transport clients to places like the gym, 12-Step meetings, outings, and weekend activities. Off-campus activities such as these help clients integrate into the local recovery community, take a break from intensive counseling sessions, and begin developing a healthy routine that they can follow once they move on to independent living. This is a great option for clients who come to us from out of state because they don’t have to worry about housing or transportation–they only have to focus on their recovery.

When clients are ready, they may step down to an even lower level of care: our intensive outpatient program (IOP).

Intensive Outpatient

Our IOP is a type of drug and alcohol treatment during which clients attend therapy sessions 3-5 days a week for several hours at a time. IOP is more flexible than PHP, so clients have more freedom but they can still live in our sober housing.

One of the most important goals of IOP is to help you establish a network of support that will support you in long-term recovery. You will engage in 12-Step meetings and be encouraged to develop a support group, find a sponsor, and work the steps.

The intensity and frequency of your IOP therapy sessions will slowly decrease over time, guiding you away from supervised care and towards independent life in sobriety.

Who Might Benefit From The 90-Day Modified Treatment Program?

Our 90-day rehab isn’t just for people who come from out of state. It can benefit many clients, including those who:

  • Have severe substance use disorders and are considered at high risk for relapse
  • Struggle with co-occurring mental health conditions like anxiety, depression, or bipolar disorder and require ongoing support
  • Don’t have a strong support system nearby
  • Don’t have access to safe, supportive, and sober housing
  • Are referred to the program by their substance abuse counselor

Not everyone is ready to commit to spending three months in rehab right off the bat–and that’s OK! Our expert clinical team continuously assesses and re-evaluates the needs of each client so we can modify their treatment plans according to their needs. If you start treatment with the intention of only spending 30 days in our care, you can always change your mind and extend your stay.
