Orange County Partial Hospitalization Program
Once your medically assisted detoxification is complete, you will enter the second stage of your treatment. The Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) is a critical phase of the recovery process because it forms the foundation you will build on for a successful life outside of treatment.
Partial hospitalization means you receive a certain number of hours of treatment while staying in the program facility. While the focus during the initial stage of your treatment was all about detoxing your body from the substances that were being abused, PHP rehab transitions you towards forming the habits and gaining the tools you’ll need once you are discharged and return to your home. You are given some freedoms and the ability to make certain choices, while still enjoying the stability of daily structure provided when you stay in a supervised treatment facility. This extended-care stage can last anywhere from 30 to 90 days.
Extended Care PHP Rehab Treatment
In a partial hospitalization program for substance abuse, you start integrating healthy activities and choices into your daily life. This will help prepare you to carry these routines over to life in recovery after your treatment ends. These healthy habits will include attendance at Narcotics Anonymous or Alcoholics Anonymous meetings held off site. You will also want to start taking care of your physical health by establishing workout routines at the gym or by taking yoga classes.
Another important part of the recovery process is re-establishing your relationships with family members and loved ones. To facilitate that, extended care rehab offers an increase in the number of family visits you will receive during treatment, and your sponsor will also meet with you more frequently. Group and individual counseling sessions will help you focus on the underlying issues behind your addiction. Because we are a dual-diagnosis facility, our partial hospitalization program covers mental health, too, as there are often co-occurring mental health problems that go along with substance abuse.
We also can help you look towards life after your extended care rehab program by offering you the time to prepare and plan for the care you’ll need after you exit treatment. You will also find opportunities to get ready for job hunting or to explore enrollment in an educational program, depending on your needs and your goals after treatment. For some patients, the move back to normal, outside activities can begin now.
Our partial hospitalization program is a crucial juncture in your treatment for addiction. You will be investing time and energy in rebuilding your life from the ground up, learning the best ways to attain and maintain sobriety and setting the stage for your future. You will learn how to take care of yourself, with the support and encouragement of our experienced and highly trained staff members. The positive behaviors you adopt during this stage of treatment can make all the difference in your outlook as you continuously work towards sobriety. Once you have successfully completed this stage of your substance abuse treatment program, you are ready to embark on the final phase: outpatient treatment.
